Prisoners’ Month Official Launch in Derry

Saoradh, Éistigí and IRPWA based at Junior McDaid House (Derry) will host a full day of events on Saturday 7th December to officially launch what is traditionally known in the Republican calendar as Prisoners’ Month.

To begin the day of events the Saoradh National Youth Department, Éistigí, will hold a protest camp at Free Derry Corner in opposition to sectarian parades starting at 10am and finishing at 12 midnight.

Following the protest camp, Derry Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association will host its annual Christmas tree vigil – also at Free Derry Corner – at 1pm.

To complete the day of events Derry Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association will hold its monthly Whiteline Picket at the alternative location of Strand Road Barracks at 6pm.
